This contemporary extension and alteration to a 1940s home in the leafy suburb of Wollaton in Nottingham, creates an open plan living space for its young family occupants. The brief requested flexibility in plan while linking the garden area to the house visually and physically. The solution uses large expanses of bespoke glazed joinery to bring the garden area into the house. The form of the structure utilises the natural orientation of the property by introducing two mono pitched roofs which face south east, pulling direct sunlight into the centre of the property.
